2. DStv Error Codes:

**These are codes that appear on your screen to give you an indication of the the type of problem that you have on hand. It is also a gives the DStv representative an idea of where to start helping you.

  • E04 – Please insert Smartcard.
  • E05 – Cannot read Smartcard.
  • E06 – Smartcard fault – decoder cannot read it.
  • E07 – Decoder is busy checking smartcard.
  • E16 – Service is scrambled, or not part of your Package.
  • E17 – Smartcard Marriage conflict.
  • E18 – Unknown smartcard. (Accidentally swapped).
  • E19 – Service scrambled.
  • E30 – Smartcard status is being checked.
  • E34 – Can not read smart-card. (invalid)
  • E37 – Invalid channel number.
  • E42 – Parental Control (PG)Activated. Enter the pin.
  • E44 – Parental Guidance status unavailable.
  • E48-32- No signal coming from the LNB.(Cable disconnection).
  • E45 – This Service is not allowed.
  • E73 – Tv link voltage overload (Short circuit).
  • E74 – LNB Overload. Short circuit in LNB or Cable
  • E107 – Smartcard & decoder is not paired.
  • E143 – No heartbeat received by secondary decoder.

3. How to reset DStv error codes:

To take some pressure off of the call centers DStv has introduced a self -help service App. system, where you can easily perform this task yourself on line. When an error code appears on your screen look at the options at the bottom.

Method 1.

  1. Log on to DStv.com and do the registration process. (for MyDStv).
  2. Then choose the Clear error codes – blue box.
  3. A picture with your decoders will come up. Choose the decoder.
  4. Click on the Manage blue button.
  5. Choose the applicable error code from the list.
  6. Click Clear.
  7. Your signal should then be recovered within a few minutes.

Method 2.

  • Dstv help is now available on WhatsApp.
  • The number is: 060 060 3788.
  • This in a messaging service.
  • Type in your problem & wait for reply.

Method 3.
